On Saturday August 4th, Patrolman James Kramer and Detective Sergeant Jay Hunter competed off-duty in the great Clinton Canoe Races representing the Police Department. Teams from Fire, Rescue and Police competed against each other. The POLICE team won 1st Place!!!!

On July 5, 1968, Major Edward D. Silver, pilot and 1Lt.. Bruce E. Lawrence,co-pilot were the crew of an F-4C aircraft that was on a night armed reconnaissance mission over North Vietnam. The aircraft was hit by hostile anti-aircraft fire. Both airman were declared Missing In Action. In 2011, Bruce's remains were recovered. In Sept. 2011, the Town of Clinton Police participated in bringing Bruce home.

The aircraft was hit by hostile anti-aircraft fire. Both airman were declared Missing In Action. In 2011, Bruce's remains were recovered. In Sept. 2011, the Town of Clinton Police participated in bringing Bruce home.
