Between 2 and 3 inches of rain is expected to fall from northern Maryland and Delaware, through southeast Pennsylvania, and into most of New Jersey before it tapers off after midnight tonight.

As rain continues to develop this morning and through the rest of today, and after a prolonged period of heavy rain overspreading the region thru tonight (Sunday night) with the axis of heaviest rain falling along the I-95 - there is the potential for flooding in low lying areas in Clinton that are historically prone to flooding such as the Beaver Brook drainage basin and other low lying areas along the South Branch of the Raritan River by late Sunday or early Monday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS - You should monitor later weather media forecasts and local conditions thru this period and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop and take precautionary actions to protect your property in the event that flooding does develop in your area.
